Somfy North America has joined the Q-SYS Technology Partner Program to develop a control plugin for the Q-SYS Platform. The Somfy Connect Universal Automation Interface (UAI) Plus plugin allows for commissioning and integration of Somfy Digital Network Motors over IP and Ethernet. Users can control and automate up to 40 individual motors or motor groups using the plugin. The collaboration between Somfy, Roll-A-Shade, and Q-SYS will provide seamless control over the Somfy motorization system, integrating shading systems, audio-video support, and automation.
Somfy North America, a subsidiary of Somfy Systems Inc., has announced its participation in the Q-SYS Technology Partner Program. The program enables software and hardware technology partners to create market-ready solutions that seamlessly integrate with Q-SYS, the cloud-manageable audio, video, and control platform. Somfy is the largest manufacturer of motors for interior window coverings and exterior solar protection in the world.
The Somfy Connect Universal Automation Interface (UAI) Plus plugin is a control solution for the Q-SYS Platform. With the plugin, customers can commission and integrate Somfy Digital Network Motors over IP and Ethernet. The UAI Plus Q-SYS plugin also provides the ability to control and automate, or manually adjust, up to 40 individual motors or motor groups. The plugin is compatible with the Somfy Synergy API and many popular home automation systems.
To execute the Q-SYS CoLAB project, Somfy partnered with Roll-A-Shade, a company that provides commercial window shade solutions. As part of the collaboration, nine fully-integrated shades were installed using Somfy’s Sonesse ULTRA 50 DC RS485 motors, the SDN PowerConnect Surface-Mount Panel, and the UAI+ Q-SYS plugin. The partnership between Somfy, Roll-A-Shade, and Q-SYS allows for seamless integration of intelligent shading systems, audio-video support, and automation on the Q-SYS platform.
The user-friendly UAI Plus plugin features easy setup, firmware updates over IP, automated reporting, and easy integration into Q-SYS Designer Software. The plugin can be monitored and managed with Q-SYS Reflect Enterprise Manager. It is also compatible with the Somfy Synergy API and various home automation systems.
Both Somfy and Roll-A-Shade are excited about their partnership with Q-SYS. Maryellen Oswald, partnerships manager at Somfy North America, stated that the collaboration allows for full integration into the Q-SYS platform and seamless control over the Somfy motorization system. Jason Hayes, director of Business Development for Roll-A-Shade, emphasized the significance of this strategic collaboration for their business.
