BIOTRONIK’s DX: 100K Devices Implanted, A Milestone of Magnitude

BIOTRONIK has announced that over 100,000 implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) equipped with DX Technology have been implanted since the technology’s introduction in 2009. DX Technology allows for direct atrial sensing, enabling the detection and monitoring of atrial fibrillation (AF). The single-lead ICD system offers reliable information about atrial arrhythmias and detects AF early, allowing clinicians to intervene and optimize patient treatment. The technology is used by clinicians in over 80 countries around the world. Over 20 clinical studies, involving more than 4,000 patients, have confirmed the safety and efficacy of DX Technology, and the recent MATRIX study results have shown that DX, combined with BIOTRONIK Home Monitoring, enables reliable remote monitoring of subclinical AF.+
