Fort Liberty’s commander, Lt. General Chris Donahue, held a round table meeting to discuss the top priorities for his soldiers and their families. He highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) and technology in the battlefield, emphasizing that they are being used currently and not just in the future. High intensity training that prepares soldiers to fight and win anywhere in the world is a key focus for Fort Liberty.
Donahue also stressed the need to take care of soldiers’ families and proposed the construction of a state-of-the-art STEM high school on post. This school would be located outside the gate and would provide education for military families without any additional checks or restrictions. Donahue acknowledged that building the new high school on federal land is not yet guaranteed, but he is working with local and state leaders to make it happen.
